SENDING EMAIL FROM OVERSEAS

I'm having this problem now a second time. I'm from the Midwest (Oklahoma) but travel on occasion. I'm presently in Cairo (Egypt) but had the same problem a couple of months ago when I was in Accra (Ghana). I can download my cox.net email, but cannot send...my laptop keeps asking me for the password for server: smtp.cox.net . Luckily I have another email account through a different ISP, thus am not marooned, but this connectivity problem is nevertheless annoying. As an aside, as soon at I returned home from Ghana, my connections worked fine, BigBobBruce

There's an added security layer which protects your account and prevents it from being able to send emails from overseas locations incase your account gets hijacked. If you sign in to your webmail on cox.com while overseas you will be prompted for additional authentication. Once this authentication is provided on the website you should be able to send email via the smtp server using your third party software. Please give it a try and let me know what happens.
