Remote will not work other than to turn bedroom box on and off.

Remote will no longer work.  Will turn tv on and off but makes a 'bing' sound anytime any other button is pushed.  Batteries were changed and did not help.  Remote does not work on main tv in living area either.  If anyone knows how to resolve this, thanks in advance.
