Recover web page

Hi!

I am running (IE) Internet Explorer 11 on Windows 10, connected by hardwire to an Amplifi router which is connected by hardwire to Cox cable modem.  Windows 10 has all updates installed.

Connected to HTTP://myconnection.cox.com, I am getting frequent "Recover web page" messages that lock up the entire system.  I have to use  Task Manager to end the IE task, then restart IE.  I am also getting frequent Script errors.

I have disabled Script Debugging (IE and Other) in Internet Options, done a virus and malware scan on the system, correcting any errors found.  I have even removed and reinstalled IE, but still get the errors.

Another problem:  I change my location from Atlanta to my home town in AZ, but it keeps getting changed back to Atlanta for some reason.

I would appreciate any help or suggestions please!

Nick

    Hello nlt99,

Are you just having this issue specifically with our website? Have you attempted to you use a different web browser (Google Chrome, Firefox, etc.)?

    Thanks for the reply Derrick!

So far it seems just to be on Cox using IE11.  It is actually Joni's machine, and she just told me that usually when she gets the Recover Webpage message, it is after she notices that the system seems to be running slowly.  Also, she says that normally when she responds to the message, the webpage she has been working on just reappears and she can proceed.

One more thing.... I changed IE to be her default browser and that SEEMS to have cured the Script errors so far.... not sure why...

I normally use Firefox on my identical system, but will start using IE to see if I experience any problems.  She gets her Cox email via IE and Thunderbird, so I will set my system up that way and let her try it to see how it compares to hers.

I may also try to set her system up to get her Cox email via Firefox (if I can figure out how to do that) and see if it helps her at all.  There are things about IE that she likes and she won't use Edge...... and I don't like it either in some ways.

    Appreciate your help!   Nick

Strangely, I installed Firefox yesterday, but when I signed on to it, the correct home page (Cox) showed up briefly, but then it went to an almost blank white screen with "2017" in the top-left corner and "Read webcdn2.cox.com" in the bottom-left corner.  I tried it again this morning and it seems to be working normally right now.

I need to figure out how to get her inbox to show up.  Thunderbird is the application for "mailto" according to the setup, and when I click the envelope icon her mail screen only show a blank  Send-Mail screen.... no inbox.

    Thanks again!  Nick

If you're trying to access email via Firefox or any other browser you can just go to http://webmail.cox.net and sign in.

    Thanks Chris!

We don't want Webmail....... in her IE, Joni has a little envelope icon at the top of the screen that she clicks on to get directly to her Cox mail in Thunderbird.  That's what I'm trying to set up for her in Firefox.....

I believe it sounds like you're trying to setup your default application preferences. This should be done either within the Windows Control Panel or Settings depending on which version of Windows you are currently using.
