Recent Bouncebacks

A few different unrelated contacts in my address book have been reporting that e-mails they have tried to send me at my cox.net address are bouncing back to them.   The most recent individual was kind enough to forward me the error message he received which says:

================

Sorry, we were unable to deliver your message to the following address.

<my address@cox.net>:
Mail server for "cox.net" unreachable for too long :

I replaced my real e-mail address above with "my address".

Please help!

  • I have been having the same issue with emails from one of my contacts.  This contact is the only contact that has reported this to me.  Her email address is @yahoo.com.  She sends me emails every day and receives this undeliverable message 1 - 2 times a week.  Here is a copy of the latest failure she received:

  • I don't have any other contacts with a Yahoo email address, but will try to set one up to see if I can receive it.  What is an MX record?  I'm my mom won't have any idea of who to contact but I will try to figure it out for her.

    I am having the same problem, only have one person with the Frontier address......can I forward the info from Frontier to someone at Cox?

  • Hi Dictionary,

    So you are getting a bounce-back message when trying to email someone with a Frontier address? Please post the error message for us. You can leave out the characters before the @ sign for privacy. If you'd prefer to email us, forward the bounce-back error to cox.help@cox.com. Be sure to include your full street address and a link to this Forums thread. Thanks!

    Seeing what the error is would help to determine the course of action.

    Typical bounceback errors include mailbox being full, address unreachable, address doesn't exist, your email looks like spam, and several other issues.  Here's an article on how to interpret bounceback messages:
