Receiver Won't Power Off From Remote

I just installed a Contour 2 DVR. I've configured the remote to control my TV but when I use the All Power button on the remote to power it off it only turns off the TV, the receiver stays on. I have to use the power button on the receiver to turn it off. The All Power turns both of them on, tho. Configuration issue?

  • Hi MarkEM,

The Contour 2 will power on using the XR11 remote or the power button on the receiver. You are right that powering off the receiver is to do so by pressing the power button on the receiver.

Thanks but that's not much help. I know that works but isn't the All Power button supposed to power the receiver off as well as the TV? It's kind of worthless if it doesn't.

  • MarkEM,

The All Power button will not power off the receiver, no. I can share your feedback on requesting this be implemented. The All power button will power on the Receiver, TV, and audio system, and power off all, but the receiver.

So the only way to turn it off is with the button on the receiver or let the power saver time out? That's really dumb. I am not impressed with the Contour DVR.
