preview email without opening

I Have a MAC desktop & used to be able to click on an email & see the contents on the right side of the screen.  Is there a way to get that function back??

    If you are using Mac Mail, you should be able to change the view back to the default layout instead of the classic layout by going to Mail > Preferences > Viewing. Be sure the box next to "Use Classic Layout" is unchecked.
