Are you directly connected to your cable modem or do you have a separate wireless router? Using ethernet would yield the fastest speed test results, I'd also recommend resetting your equipment if you haven't already.

I am hardwired via a wireless router (wireless used for rest of the house, my pc is connected via ethernet cable). I've tried resets, nothing. I also bought a new and better cable modem hoping that would help.

Would it be possible to try testing wired without the router and see if there's any difference?

Actually just did this, exactly the same. Plugged straight into the pc from the cable modem, same result. Rebooted everything multiple times.....and I even upgraded to 300mbps and nothing changed lol. Something I wanted to do anyway, but if I can't get this working I might as well drop to the 50mbps plan.

I am getting 60mbps pretty consistently today, but a far cry from the 150-300 plans.

If you have the PC connected now I can check the Ethernet status for potential problems.

It is typically connected except for overnight hours. Just checked it again, still running around 60/6. Appreciate the help.

    Hi Mako482,

We want to determine what speeds your PC can handle. Are you able to check the NIC card and see what speeds it can handle?

It's an onboard (MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition) controller, Realtek PCIe GBE 10/100/1000. Status speed says "1.0 Gbps".

Is there any way you could try connecting the PC directly to the modem then messaging us back so we can take a look?
