Outlook Not Accepting Password

A Cox tech came out yesterday and replaced my modem, now every time I open Outlook up pops the login screen, and it doesn't accept my password.

I remember this happening with my old computer using outlook express but forget what the fix was.

what can I do about this??

    Check if you can log in using the userid/password on webmail.cox.net - don't use what is auto-filled in, type it out yourself.

    Username for outlook should the first part (before the @ sign) of your email address

    Password is the same

    Now there is a known issue with outlook if the username/password is correct that it keeps asking: https://www.google.com/search?q=outlook+keeps+asking+for+password+2016&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8 and various other things (including outlook file corruption)

    If your password works, then it's likely an outlook issue - if your password doesn't work, reset it and use the new one.
