Outgoing cox email issue

Suddenly with no changes to my phone, I am unable to send e-mail. The following error appears - "Cannot send mail. The connection to the outgoing server "smtp.cox.net" failed. I can log in on the internet and send from ipad but not my iPhone. Any thoughts how to correct this?

    Are you able to receive mail?  Please verify your outgoing server settings, ensure the password is correct, SSL , authentication and Port Number information.  Let us know as we are here to help.
