OpenVPN Connection Problems

I cannot connect to my VPN service via the OpenVPN protocol. I can connect using PPTP and IKEV protocols without any issues. There doesn't seem to be any issues with my VPN service, and they suggest there could be a restriction from my ISP. Does Cox place any limitation on using the OpenVPN protocol, or is there any special configuration that I need to do for it to work with Cox?

Thanks!

There's nothing on our end that would prevent you from doing this. Changing the DNS settings will help prevent future issues however if you're having problems establishing the VPN connection this is sounding more like either a router or provider issue.

If you're able to establish the connection but it simply doesn't work it could be enhanced error results causing you issues. See the following article for more info on how to disable that:

    Chris,

I've changed my DNS settings per your link, but still cannot connect using OpenVPN. PPTP and IKEV connect just fine, it's just the OpenVPN protocol that doesn't seem to be working. Are there any constraints/restrictions from Cox that are causing the OpenVPN issue? If not, I'll contact my VPN service again if it's on their end.

    Thanks!
