On demand

Why can I no longer view the tv channels on the on demand button? I used to be able to (last night) . I know that you had to pay a fee to watch certain movies, but I never had to pay to watch the tv shows. Now when I got to the on demand button, it tells me I have to subscribe in order to view anything. Since when? And how do I get back to when I could watch reruns? This is very frustrating!!
