No incoming or outgoing email

I have not been able to send or receive email through cox since Thursday at 4am.  I've tried using the email app on my phone with mobile data, the wifi at my house via Cox and the internet at my work as well.  No email at all.  When I call, they tell me they are working on it?  Any suggestions or anyone else experiencing this?  I am beyond frustrated.  Can't do work or personal!

  • Also not able to send or receive emails thru Cox's email server since 01 Nov.  Anybody has been able to overcome this situation?

  • Hi Leslie,

There was an issue on 11/4/17 that caused a delay in email delivery. That issue has now cleared, and your Inbox should be up-to-date when you log in. You mentioned using the email app on your phone. What brand and model phone do you have? When you open your mail app, do you get any errors? Do you get an error when trying to send an email?

  • Hi Mrodriguez208,

Thank you for your email! I have just replied. We'll get to the bottom of this for you!

I am also having email problems since Wednesday.  I reported it to Cox on Thursday and have a second-level help ticket number.  I have been told this is a systemic issue and is affecting many customers.  I've called back several times a day and keep getting the same response--we're working on it.  No one has been able to tell me how many people are affected and when the problem will be resolved.

I am beyond angry at this point,  This is totally unacceptable.

  • My email has been down since 11/2/17.   I've been told every day that it's a system wide problem affecting many users.

It's now 11/5/17.  Still nothing.  Tired of calling/chatting to hear the same lame excuse.

    Will this ever be fixed?

Can you at least tell us a way to forward our email to another account so I can at least get my email somewhere?

Are you able to log into the cox website and see your email there? If you haven't done so, please give that a try and let us know if you're able to do so. What sort of a mail program are you using? Outlook, Mac Mail. etc..?

I know!  I wish they could just forward the emails and get me back online.  Days without email is unacceptable!

  • I get this error when I log in to my email from the cox website:

This happens no matter where I log in or what device I use.

I've tried logging in from my home in San Juan Capistrano,  Monterey, CA and Las Vegas, NV.  I've tried on every kind of browser on both Mac OS,  Windows 10 and iOS devices.

I'm in my 5th day of this email outage.  I'm out of patience.   I would've cancelled the service but I need my email to be working to switch my email address on most of my accounts.  Ironic, huh.

Is there any kind of work around?  Can you get into my account on your end and forward these emails to another address.

I need you to do something besides give me excuses why it's still not fixed.

You are barking up the wrong tree, Stephanie.  I have been told by 2nd level help Cox technicians there is a systemic problem with your incoming email server that is affecting those of us on this thread who have taken the time to post.  If we can't get email through Webmail, we won't be able to get email via Outlook, iPhones, iPads, or any other email software.

This has been going on since last Wednesday.  No one from Cox has been able to tell me when this problem will be resolved or how many people are affected.  Beyond frustrated...

  • ...and they know we can't just cancel our accounts.    Changing email addresses is so much harder than changing a physical address.

Plus, most companies I deal with want me to confirm from my current email address any new email address.

I feel like I'm being held hostage.
