No dial tone on my phone

It seems for the past 2 days I haven't had a dial tone on my phone, and no service it seems. I did follow instructions as to unhook the phone from the phone jack and connect it to another one. This did not work. I also changed phones to see if that would work. It did not. If you need any more information, please let me know. I've had this happen before, generally the problem resolved itself within a day or two. But, I'm still concerned about this, so I need some help here.

    Do you have a telephony modem for your phone service? If so, is the Tel 1 light on the front flashing or solid?

    How many outlet do you have all together in your home? How many phones do you have? How many are corded and how many are cordless? Are any of the cordless phones part of a 1 base, multiple handset system?

    No-I don't have a telephone modem-it's part of a bundle package-the modem I have is for my computer. I have 1 corded phone and I have 2 phone jacks-one in the living room and one in the bedroom. I've already tried both and they're not working. Stephanie, I've had this happen before, and within a day or two, the problem righted itself. However, this time it's not the case.

    Stephanie-frankly, I'm disappointed. I know for a fact, someone else on the forum had the same problem and the phone line was re-activated from the tech's end and resolved the problem. If you need additional information about my account, I'll be happy to supply that information. Also, I can't make an appointment if I don't have phone service.

    In case the problem comes back, can you describe your setup more? What model internet modem do you have? If it doesn't have phone service integrated into it then you might get your phone service from a older outside type modem on the side of your house. Knowing which you have would help troubleshoot the problem. I wonder if you have some phone wiring in your house that is damaged and causes a ground loop to fault the line once in a while.

    you can also setup service call by email that is what Stephanie was trying to do
