I picked up my phone modem hooked every thing up, using a ATT cl82213, on the phone it shows no line on the modem it has correct lights, should this phone work

What connections did you make? Coax cable from primary wall outlet to Cable-In on modem? RJ-11 cable from TEL 1/2 port on modem to wall outlet...or CL82213 to TEL 1/2 port on modem?
Did the Cox Store give you an activation date? Perhaps you could log in to your account and activate the modem.
Is the tel 1 light on the MTA on?
