New cox mini box

I received and set up my new mini box on my recently purchased Samsung HD TV. Tried it several times. So far I can't get anything except the on/off switch and volume to work on my remote. I went through and got the correct code and followed the step by step process. Please help!

    I am not on HD.

    This may sound crazy but I found if the cox remote does not have a clear uncluttered view to the mini box it does not work well. I moved it to the top of my old TV and it is perfect. Sound, Channel Changing and Guide works great.
