New Appsuite for eMail

Somehow, my Email got convert to the myemail/appsuite.  I chatted with a rep who said that I must of asked to be converted and once I was converted I cannot go back.  ALL my new EMail now goes to my SPAM folder.  I have supposedly turned OFF my SPAM filter yet everything still goes to the SPAM folder.  Also when using the help functions, NO references to the new Email is mentioned only the differences beween the enhanced and regular email.

Anyone having similar issues??

  • Hi JimGil,

I'm sorry that the transition to the new email platform was not as smooth as it should be! We know you did not ask to be migrated; all Cox email customers are being migrated to the new email platform over the next few months. We have a ticket open so our mail team can address why all of your mail is going to your Spam folder. Our team will track this ticket on your behalf and let you know as soon as we have further information.

To learn more about the new email platform, go to www.cox.com/residential/education-center/internet/email.html and http://bit.ly/CoxEmailSupport.

Not only that but email forwarding is not working. forwarded mail goes into the bit bucket unless you have the forward and save option checked. It still will not forward, but, you will not lose your incoming mail.  Check the internet forum for more details. This is a known problem that the techs are working on. No ETA of resolution.

Forwarding does not work, sometimes works on email that has not been moved to the "new" system. New email systems bounces incoming messages that exist in my contacts and that I have been receiving messages for years, still works fine in the old email system. Only half of my email addresses have been converted. I requested that they stop converting my email until they fix the "new" (broken) system but was told I have no choice. They are still moving forward with the conversion to the "new" email with no date when the issues will be fixed. Gmail still works fine, although it's sad to pay for a Internet/email service that's broken.

Becky they all broke the links for the my account options like pay bill,  tv tools, phone tools and internet tolls it was better when they were on the left side instead of having to click the cox logo and go to my account.

  • You're right, Andrew. The new Cox email platform doesn't have links to account tools (Phone Tools, Pay Bill, Internet Tools, etc.) on the left-hand side of the screen. Only your list of email folders is displayed on the left. I was a fan of that menu, also. However, I believe our web developers were trying to keep the look of the new email platform consistent with the My Account page design.

  • Hi JimGil,

We have received an update. At your convenience, please log into web mail and go to the gear icon in the upper right hand corner and select settings. Under settings open inbox section , then check Filters Rules section and Block Senders section to see if there are any entries with a a single @ symbol. If so please delete this rule or entry. Please let us know what you find when you check this setting.

Yes I am having big problems with it.  I still have the old windows XP and I have asked not to be switched to the app/suite. I have been switched to the myemail app/suite and Nothing is working right.  I get my emails still but when I click delete they go to the spam folder.  I cannot get into email/webmail .  I cannot get to my blocked list.  I am not buying a new computer until September and am really getting tired of everything being changed.  I went to Chat for help with emails and finding my blocked email addresses to change them and what they told me to do I could not get into because it is on the new my email app/suite.  I am ready to cancel Cox completely because of this and having to go to another security program when Cox security, i.e. McAfee stopped working on my computer last year.  Is there any help available for emails/web mails in the Windows XP???????

I am having this issue. In fact some friends are getting bounces from my cox address, people who have emailed me successfully thousands of times before this so called upgrade. In fact, *sometimes* the automatic forward from my own gmail account to my cox email bounces -- but not always.

This has been happening since the moment they switched, and continues five weeks later. I've worked with them on the phone, I have a tech support ticket number. I've set up a Filters rule to specifically allow my own gmail email, and it STILL bounces.

I don't know what they've been doing to fix this problem, or if they are even still trying. But I've never in my life seen such a poorly executed roll out.

Even though I am trying to migrate away from using my Cox email address, I've had it for so long, I still must check my mail online, constantly (which is not how I normally operate), and have to know that mails to that address are still bouncing, with unknown consequences.

  • Hi C.E.E,

At this time Windows XP is no longer supported by Microsoft. We cannot guarantee compatibility. The older email platform is being retired and all accounts are being migrated to the new system. I do apologize for any inconvenience. The new web mail is supported by all current Windows, Apple, Android and many other modern systems.

Myemail is a disaster. Why they foisted it on us is a mystery. You cannot keep customers if you do things that are counter productive. Appsuite looks like it was coded by somebody sitting in their underwear in their mother's basement. It is: slower, has more ads, screen is not user friendly, icons are tiny and non-standard, the select boxes at each received mail line check themselves without user input so that when you delete something else you also delete something you needed to keep, impossible to edit replies, hides eddresses on inbound messages, won't keep plain text even if selected multiple times, defaults to HTML with all of its problems, when sending a message there is no confirmation that it was successful, There are more but I'm tired of typing. This app should be available ONLY to those who ask for it. The rest of us are being given an incentive to leave COX!!!!!!!!!!!!!
