myemail.cox.net with filtered folders requires double deletes

Using Chrome, cox Webmail, myemail.cox.net.

I have routine and reoccurring email traffic to my accounts filtered and placed in pre-established folders. Unique and/or initial emails populate in the normal In Box.

Under the old Webmail system, those filtered emails would display only in the the specified filter folder or go to the In Box.

Under the new myemail system, those filtered emails display in both the In Box as well as the specified folder.  To delete an email in this new system, one must delete the specific email from both the In Box and the filter folder (two steps).  One would expect that deleting the email from either location would send it to the Trash folder (one step).

What setting am I missing?  Thanks.

Think I found my own solution.

Looking at the filters setup (Settings>Inbox>FilterRule) I noticed the old system rules had migrated to the new system, but there were no names associated with any of the filters, only blank lines to edit.

I edited those lines and gave the filters specific names.

Also, I noted while editing each filter, under Actions, a "KEEP" had been added to all filters.  I deleted that KEEP rule and hopefully this will negate the requirement to double delete single emails.

The new system creates duplicate emails where there's a relevant rule... one copy to specified folder and one copy to inbox.  Without addressing this engineered irritation, you'll need to delete each cope separately.  It's nice to know that techies still feel they know what we want better than we do.

Deleting the "Keep" option when editing the rules post "upgrade" did it for me.  Of course when they did this "upgrade" they re-arranged the furniture so to speak and left it to us to figure out how to locate rules so they can be edited.... click "settings", then "settings" (again) from the drop-down menu.  You're taken to a page with a sidebar to the left headed with "Basic Settings"  Click "Inbox" there, then "Filter Rules" and you should be home free.
