MS Outlook switch from pop3 to imap server

I have MS Outlook operating on my pc using pop3 server. Whenever I receive an email on my pc, it wipes all email off of my iPhone inbox.  I need to change to imap server to avoid wiping my iPhone inbox but the drop down box in Settings will not open to allow me to change the setting.  Any ideas on how I can resolve this issue?

    POP3 and IMAP accounts have completely different and incomparable mail store requirements preventing them from being directly switched. You should be able to just add your email account a 2nd time in Outlook as an IMAP account then disable the POP3 account. By disabling the POP3 account your old emails will remain in their existing Outlook folders but new emails will no longer be removed from the server.
