Motorola DCT4616 III Help

I have a program that I am in desperate need to save for my father, is there anyway for me to save the program off the dvr? Transfer it to a new box? Computer? External hard drive? Been having lots of issues with my cable and been told my box is the reason, I am missing channels.

    DVR boxes are designed only for temporary storage of programming. At this time there is no process for permanently saving or transferring recordings.
