modem

I have a cox modem when they installed my service 3 years ago. I am having difficulties with it. At least once a week I am disconnected from the internet because of my modem. I would have to unplug it and re-plug it ( reboot) . Can some one offer some suggestions as to why this happens? thank you

    @jv3313, you haven't given us much to go on ... what plan are you on?  What is make/model of you modem/router/gateway?  When you are disconnected, is it all devices on your network or just one?  Are you connected wired or wireless?  If a wireless device disconnects, do wired device(s) disconnect also?
