MODEEM

My Cox High-Speed Internet Premier requires a DOCSIS 3.0 Modem to utilize download speeds up to 150Mbps.  I only have a DPQ3212 and I have troubles with downloading.  How do I go about getting a DOCSIS 3.0 Modem?

You can rent one from Cox, or purchase one that is on their approved list.

The DPQ3212 is a DOCSIS 3 modem and contains an eMTA (telephone).  If you subscribe to Cox telephone and it is connected to your 3212, any modem you buy must be Cox approved and also contain an eMTA.  Since your 3212 is DOCSIS 3 you may want to troubleshoot before spending for a new modem.  What troubles are you having with your downloads?

  • Hi 1what1,

DOCSIS 3.0 devices with 8 x 4 channels can support consistent speeds of up to 150 Mbps. Your DPQ3212 meets these requirements. Are you having any issues with connectivity or internet speed?
