Moca and internet

Can I add a moca adapter to cox service that only has internet? I currectly am using their phone/cable modem by Cisco DPQ3212 and Netgear R6400 wireless router. I dropped the cable and phone service.  I have coax outlets thru out my 2 story house but have weak wfi signals everywhere. Was hoping by adding the adapter I could use a direct wired ethernet to Roku for better streaming.

Any help appreciated.

Hi,  adding the MoCA adapter is not something Cox would support; and in doing that it's possible it may degrade your Internet signal.  In looking to strengthen your WiFi signal you may want to find a way to directly connect an Ethernet cord directly from your Roku to your router, consider purchasing a WiFi extender to strengthen the signal, or you can order a 2nd line of Internet service for that outlet, which will require a 2nd modem, or you may consider relocating  your Internet equipment to a more central location in your home.  Let us know if we can be of any further assistance to you!

Adding another internet line would require additional fees. Also I have a wifi extender that does not help. The only way to extend ethernet is to run wire thru the attic and down thru the walls and I am not sure I can do that without hiring someone who could.

Pulling an Ethernet through the walls would be the most reliable solution but probably cost a little more. MoCA adapter could also work but I'd price out running the Ethernet first. The overall costs could be comparable.

The modem you have is sufficient for the level of service that you have; it's a Docsis 3.0 modem with 8 downstream channels.
