Mini boxes

if you just want basic TV no contour box DVR or anything like that are you able to just have the mini boxes and do you need to have a main receiver in your house? Family member was told they needed to have a main receiver in order to have basic cable.

    Hi, you would not need a main receiver for the mini box to work. The work independently of each other.
