Mini Box
The HDMI port on my TV is currently attached to the COX Cable/DVR box. I don't understand where to attach the mini without disconnecting the Cable/DVR.

Attach it to another TV. Seriously, if you already have a DVR you don't need a minibox on that TV. The minibox is only required on TVs connected directly to cable without a box of any kind.

If you have a DVR box connected to your TV set, you will not need to connect a mini box to that TV. If you have any sets in the home with a direct cable connection from the outlet to the TV, it must have digital equipment - such as a mini box, CableCard, or Advanced TV Receiver if you want to continue to receive television service on them.
