Mini box sound

My Cox mini box just in the last day has a fine picture but no sound. 

Nothing but a hissing noise. It's not the tv since I can put a DVD in and all is just fine. I tried rebooting by unplugging it and disconnecting the cables and plug it all back in. Didn't help a thing at all.

    Are you using an HDMI or coax cable from the mini box to the TV?
