Mini Box off a Splitter (shared with Cable Modem)

The Mini Box off the splitter (shared with Cable Modem) does not work.  The Mini Box works fine if coming directly from wall, however.

Before I have a technician out, is there a Cox-sanctioned booster/splitter that I can try?  It's very difficult for me to be home for a technician.  I'm willing to spend money to give a quality splitter a shot first.,  Clearly, such a splitter needs to support both the cable modem and the mini box.

Is that an option?

We ask that customer not install amplifiers on their own without a service visit to determine if there is a way to avoid doing so. Splitters are pretty basic, the ones we use are 5-1000Mhz and have 3.5 or 7db of loss per output depending on the output count. Our solutions stores do sell these for do it yourselfers. I've tried looking elsewhere locally where I'm at however have been unable to find any that meet those specs, your results may vary based on where you are.

Thank you very much.  I purchased a splitter as per your specifications (Amazon) and it all works great now.

Note to other readers: Your Cable Modem should come off the -3.5 connection, other devices off the 7.
