Mini-box FCC emergency test to color bars

This is for Cox information if there is any interest. Cox minibox HD-uDTA-C in Hampton Roads area of Virginia.

Today the scheduled required FCC emergency test was activated. When test was complete instead of returning to channel that was interrupted (HLN), the mini-box was locked on color bars. Remote would not change box when any keys where pressed. Finally had to pull power plug and reboot mini-box which restored it to normal functions. Don’t know if this is a one time problem or something that Cox should evaluate.

    Hi Don318, we were running a national emergency alert test earlier today and had reports similar to this with mini boxes. Our video engineers also sent signals to correct this issue remotely if it had not been corrected with a power cycle already. Thanks for the heads up.
