Mini box DVR

I want to see if I have this figured out.  To add a DVR to a mini box I will need a splitter because the signal is in HDCP.  Any suggestions are appreciated.

    Are you wanting to add a Cox DVR? A Cox DVR shouldn't be connected to a mini box. If you're using a third party DVR/PVR, which are you using? Newer third party DVR devices made by companies like TiVo, SiliconDust, etc. would use a CableCard and tuning adapter rather than a minibox for decrypting signal.
