Mini Box and channels etc..

Cable bill getting way too high need to switch to the mini box. If you use the mini box on your main TV what channels do you get with it and do you have to subscribe to a package to get channels with the mini box?  I have a mini box on one other TV and it gets good channels, in the main TV we have the advance tv receiver box and subscribe to starter, expanded and advance tv.  I just want to save money but get decent channels so I need to know what do you get automatically with the mini box and what do you have to subscribe to or what can you subscribe to in order to get channels?
