min box and dvd hookup
my dvd player doesn't work with mini box

It isn't supposed to. The DVD player connects to your TV completely separate from your mini box. Use 1 HDMI from mini box to TV and then use another HDMI(or some other wire) to connect the DVD to the TV. Unless you mean a DVD recorder?
