Message filters, folders, new email format...

I'm reposting from another discussion on the theory that deviating from the original topic was the reason it apparently was ignored.

My main email is still in the older format and I've created a number of message rules that sort incoming mail into folders I've created.  Among other things this has been quite effective in keeping SPAM from reaching my inbox.  If this is going to be discarded in the transition I'd appreciate a heads-up.  Not that the news would be welcome but the fact that there's a culture of disrespect for the customer as to let us twist in the proverbial wind as changes are imposed upon us is beyond the pale in my mind and further aggravates the inconveniences that we're expected to endure with Cox.

Kindly advise... and thank you.

  • Do you not have a response to my question or is it a new standard procedure for you to let paying customers twist in the wind when they have the temerity to pose questions concerning changes that Cox intends to unilaterally shove up their you-know-what?

  • Hi Stinkfoot63,

Inbox rules and filters used to sort incoming email into folders will be transferred from the legacy email system to the new platform. I had forgotten that I had set up several rules in Classic Webmail, and I noticed them when reviewing my settings after my account was migrated to the new email platform. Once migrated, you can edit or delete the legacy rules and also add new rules to filter incoming mail.

  • Thank you for your response, Becky.  I'm glad that such a useful tool will still be available.

  • Hi stinkfoot63,

We received an update in regards to your Phone Tools issue.  The ticket has been reported as resolved, please log in and let us know if you have any further issues.  Thank you for your patience.

  • Thank you.  Calls are again being logged... differently.  I think the "Missed Call" bug was resolved as well and that initially threw me off.  I had become accustomed to seeing placed and received calls differentiated by color.  Apparently only missed calls are supposed to be in red...?

  • Glad to hear that the calls are being logged. Have a great day.

There was an implicit question in my response but this has hijacked a discussion about the email system (about which I have some lingering questions/doubts) and might instigate consternation, stress, and occasional irregularity among some looking for a discussion about email filters and how they work in the new system that Cox has decided that we all like.  My heartfelt appreciation that you took valuable time to deftly gloss over the question.  Perhaps that can be more directly avoided in the other discussion about phone tools and not danced around off topic here.

    stinkfoot63,

I apologize that the question was missed. All missed calls should be red. Here's an article with more details for call history. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.

  • Would like some tips on message rules in the new format.  Contrary to your assurances, the custom filters I set appear to be gone and as yet I have not found any way of re-creating them.

When you go to settings > Inbox > Filter Rules, do you see any rules set? Are they enabled?

I'll need to explore more.  Not nice of Cox to change things so radically though.  I realize this wasn't your doing so I'll spare you the rant and simply thank you for pointing me in the right direction.
