Loud Commercials

Is Cox aware of the following? You are blasting commercials all day long in apparent ignorance of the CALM Act

Federal Communications Commission (FCC or Commission) rules require commercials to have the same average volume as the programs they accompany.  In the Commercial Advertisement Loudness Mitigation (CALM) Act, Congress directed the FCC to establish these rules, which went into effect on December 13, 2012.

What will you do about this infringement on the peace and quiet of my household?

Cox is actively working with programmers, advertisers and equipment providers to ensure that commercials that run on our channel lineup are compliant with the new regulations. We have a process to track patterns of customer complaints and take additional measures to monitor and ensure compliance based on customer feedback. We will follow up on issues identified in monitoring and coordinate with the appropriate partners to resolve such issues. Engineering verifies reports of network non-compliance, works with programmers and advertisers to resolve issues, and also runs "spot checks. Please email us at cox.help@cox.com your Full address, primary name on the account, date commercial aired, the time commercial topic, network and the type of device you viewed it on so we can submit a form.
