Is the Cisco 9865HDC cable box controlled by IR or RF

Question

I am trying to control my cable box with my xbox one. The xbox can not find the cable box and i am curious if the box is broken or if it is controlled by RF and not IR because xbox can only control things by IR

The receiver uses IR and there is a 3.5mm jack in the back of the Cisco you can use with an extender.
