is it normal practice for a service tech to lie about showing up?

Hi, I'm just curious if anyone has had an issue with a service tech lying about fulfilling an appointment.  After my time window expired, I inquired why the tech wasn't here, and was told that he called and knocked on the door to no answer.

I have no phone calls, especially none at the time I was told he "called", and i reviewed camera footage from my front door showing absolutely no one for two hours prior to the service window, and no one during the time of the service window.  That's a very dissatisfying feeling that a service tech would falsify information about attempting a visit when i have irrefutable proof that no one came to the door.

I'm truly sorry that you've had such a bad experience with us! I'd like to contact our field leadership team in regards to this and also schedule another technician out. Please email your full address and primary name to cox.help@cox.com.

Thank you.  I've already gotten it rescheduled, and emailed the details to the address above.  It's truly unprofessional for a tech to do something like this.

We will contact our leadership team and once again we truly apologize.

  • Could be a case of dialing a wrong number and arriving at the wrong address.  Just sayin'
