Internmittent Internet Speed

Intermittent internet speeds and decreased downloads.  Paying for Premier package 100Mbps, but I have never reached that speed.  Previously had speeds up to 50Mbps, but now down in the 20Mbps.  Allegedly Cox upgraded the speeds, but my speeds are less than.  We continue to have to reboot speed.  I use WiFi connection with a separate router and modem.  Using a Linksys EA6358 and ARRIS SURFBoard SB6183 for WiFi and Router.

    Hi kak,

Have you tested your connection speeds while having your modem directly connected to a computer? That would give us the best idea of the connection speeds your modem can achieve.

What is a Linksys EA6358?  I come up empty when trying to google it.  Thanks

Thanks.  Wired rates is 171Mbps download and 12Mbps up load.  Wireless within 1 foot, I get 47.37Mbps download and 12Mbps up load.  Wireless downstairs, I get 24Mbps download and 12Mbps upload.

It looks like the Linksys EA6350 needs to be replaced as the Wireless is not working well.

Sounds like you are using wireless n, not ac.  Regardless of marketing hype, typical 802.11n speeds are 40-50Mbps.  To get 100+Mbps, you need ac.  If your client's wifi adapter isn't capable of 802.11ac, you may be better off upgrading it, not the router.
