Internet ping spike/disconnecting every minute.

Ok so I am having internet connectivity problems. This has been going on for the past 3 months and I dont know what to do. So what happens is that my internet has pings spikes every minute (or disconnections) for about a second and so when I am playing games my game will lag for a second or two then go back to normal (keep in mind that it is only noticeable when I play games but it is always happening). I am getting about 50mbps down and 7mbps up. I had Cox come out and try to diagnose and fix my issue, but they found nothing faulty on their end and so they told me it was on my end. I figured it was my modem which I had just bought, so I went out and bought another one and returned my other one. Well nothing changed. I dont know if it could be my desktop which I doubt because this never happened before in the past 3 years I have had it. Though I could be wrong, but I have no way to test this, or rather, I do not know how. Below are images of my modem's status and logs which show the errors it gets and how it is performing which seems normal. What can I do? http://imgur.com/a/DhmFb

Also I am using a Motorola MB7220

Someone had mentioned to me that they read from a comcast forum that it could be interference from a TV broadcast station, and that the more highly trained cox techs would be able to help.

Please post your modem status (usually found at 192.168.100.1) so I can further diagnose the problem

Your Rx power is slightly high - within the spec, but at the top end.  Tx power is right on the money.  You don't have much error correction being triggered.... or do you?  That corrected column might indicate a noise issue that isn't severe enough that it stops the modem from correcting and asking for retrans....Typically a modem will show frames/corrected frames/uncorrected frames so you can get an idea of the error rate (corrected+uncorrected)/total frames - over a long period of time I prefer much less than 0.01% error rate (1E-09 or so over a truly long period of time).

From the log I can't tell how frequently the T3 issues are happening.  Once or twice per day is typical, it's when you have 10+ per any two hour period continuously that it starts to be a large drag.

Are you having the ping issues on a wired or wireless connection?  I typically see weird ping issues on wifi, especially in built up areas.

If you are on wifi, try the 5Ghz band (if you have a dual band wifi router), it suffers less interference due to the wider frequency range.

The issues are on wired connection. I do not have wifi. And the modem does not show frames specifically. What I provided in the images is all the modem shows

I did take a look from this end however I'm not seeing anything connected to the modem. Can you check the Ethernet connection for me and make sure it's securely connected at both ends?

May I ask what is connected now? Please note I am NOT a moderator and can't see your connection, but I noticed the router has not been mentioned. Are you connecting directly to the MB7220?

Yes the modem. I usually turn off my computer at night when I go to sleep and so it might not show the modem connected to anything until I turn it back on the next day. I do not possess a router. Only a modem. I use a desktop on wired connection.

A really high power is usually caused by a cmts problem, just give the information to cox and they will figure it out
