Internet lag spikes- Hardwired and wifi.

Hello experts,

I currently am experiencing a lot of ping related issues especially in regards to games. I've reset the router by both the reset button and sending signal. I've replaced all the connection wires and even the splitter, and turned off and on it without resetting. I also have done port forwarding and none of this seems to be working. Please see the examples below.

All with only one PC connected. - Pinging google.com over 15 iterations excluding the packets for space conservation

No games up:

Ping statistics for 216.58.217.206:
Packets: Sent = 15, Received = 15, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 19ms, Maximum = 23ms, Average = 21ms

1 Game up mid game:

Ping statistics for 216.58.193.206:
Packets: Sent = 15, Received = 15, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 286ms, Maximum = 344ms, Average = 314ms

Any thoughts? Again this is wired connection however wireless acts similar. When connected to my hotspot I have no spikes so it leads me to believe its something to do with cox and or the modem.

    Do you have a gateway or modem/router? What model?

    Also, can you post a tracert or pathping to google with one game running?

    Sure, when I get a chance. Model of the modem is: UBEE DVW326

    However last night ~10PM+ this is what my ping stats were:

    Ping statistics for 172.xxx.4.xxxx:

    Packets: Sent = 4460, Received = 4460, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
    Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 16ms, Maximum = 100ms, Average = 20ms

    No lag... so is this due to noisy neighbors?

    A ping only tells you IF something is happening, not WHERE.  That ping certainly looks bad though.

    Along with the tracert, can you post your signal levels? You can find them at 192.168.100.1, username: user password: password. Then click Status > Connection and will look like whats on page 23 of manual.
