intermittent internet connection

i have a long-standing issue with intermittent internet connections in my neighborhood (southridge in las vegas).  i've had many service calls but none has fixed the problem, which is centered around the attenuator connection.  junk comes down the line that the attenuator rejects, and my browser spins not finding the web site.   yet my next door neighbor who is a realtor constantly using his computer doesn't have a problem.   i really need a technician to put a monitoring device on it to prove there is a problem in my neighborhood that cox hasn't fixed yet.  i'm tired of the technicians coming here then leaving and i still have the problem.

can anyone from cox please speak to that?  please don't try and sell me another new modem.  i've already upgraded multiple times and i'm tired of hearing that approach, too.

my issue isn't speed, it is loss of connectivity.  i have a service call scheduled for later today.

p.s, my work order is #70326458.  i would prefer a company-employed tech, preferrably a senior, and not a contractor.

I did take a look at this from this end and all appears well up to the modem itself. The only problem I'm seeing is the modem you're using doesn't work for your subscribed speeds.

so, i'm supposed to but a new modem?  4th time i've head and tried that.  since new modem models come out every six months at least, this game can go on forever.  the problem is at the attenuator, which you can't see.  only the techs that come out can see it.

You could try bypassing any attenuates or splitters and see if that helps. Testing the device at a different cable outlet is also something you could try and see what happens. If none of that helps scheduling a technician may be a good idea.
