Incredibly slow download speeds

The last 2-3 days I've had incredibly slow download speeds (4Mbps) and normal upload speeds.  I have Ultimate internet so this is obviously really slow.  I had a Netgear CM500 but just purchased an Arris SB6190 and am getting the exact same speeds. I've called in a few times and don't feel like they know what they're talking about.  Can anyone else help??

    Depending on what you're using your Internet for the CM500 may give you better upload speeds under normal circumstances as how it handles latency sensitive traffic better than the 6190. I look at the connection from here and the modem is reporting poor signal levels. Are there any cable splitters you can try bypassing and seeing if that helps?

  • I don't have any splitters or anything that I am aware of.  I don't have cable tv- just internet.  This was fine up until a couple days ago so something had to have changed outside of my house.  I don't care too much about upload speeds- I care very much about download speeds that are 2% of what they should be.  Any ideas?  Do I need to have someone come out?
