I have the COX minimum service and a visitor made a long distance call

I have the COX minimum phone service and a visitor made a long distance call on my phone and I do not have long distance service that I am aware of with anyone.

How does this get charged?

Your visitor probably used a "dial-around" service.  Was the number preceded with 1010, such as 1010321(XXX) XXX-XXXX?

I think you might get billed 30¢ per minute.  please come back and let us know what shows up on your bill.   the moderator said that this forum is not for billing questions but your question is of interest to many people.  I don't think the answer is posted at cox.com.  more people are cutting back on their home-phone-long distance since their cell phones don't charge for long distance. if someone asks to use my home phone, I might insist on dialing the number for them.

When it comes to prices, Cox wants some secret back-channel communication.  Tell us how much they ripped charged you for long distance.
