Hooking up new tv to replace old

Hi,

My old tv is dying (big tube type) and I will be replacing it soon. In hooking up the new TV to the little digital Cox box, is it just a matter of unplugging the old tv, and plugging in the new one? Or will I have to call Cox, and have them do something?

Pam

If the receiver or mini box is already activated, you will not need to call us to change the TV. It sounds like you will need to change the cable you are using to connect the box to your TV. What model receiver or mini box do you have from us and I'll be able to get you specific information on how to connect everything.

Thanks for responding, Stephanie. In turns out, everything was easy to hook up. My issue now is that, I have to use the remote that comes with the TV to operate it for everything except changing channels. And I have to use the Cox remote to turn my TV off and on. The new TV is a Samsung. If you happen to know how I can arrange it so I only have to use the Cox remote, that'd be a big help. Otherwise, everything is great.
