Having troubles with Playstation Network and my IP Address

I need to change my IP address assigned to my MAC address. How do I go about doing that?

    The only way to change the IP is to connect the modem to a different device; it would then assign a new IP. The MAC address would determine the IP address that gets assigned. Are you connected to a router currently?
