Has Auto Forwarding Issue Been Resolved

Thread mentioning an issue with auto forwarding has been unanswered but locked, has this issue been resolved?

"Correct, the forwarding for the new Webmail is still being looked into..."  Ed H. - Cox Support Forums Moderator

forums.cox.com/forum_home/internet_forum/f/5/p/17779/66380.aspx

Experiencing many of the same issues as detailed in above thread (as well as others, like slow and unreliable delivery of emails), but am unable to auto forward to more than one email address.

Has the forwarding issue with the new webmail been resolved?  Is the newly updated mail system able to auto forward to multiple addresses, as prior system was able to do and did flawlessly?

I ran a test this afternoon, sending email from a non-cox account to a cox account with forwarding turned on.  The forwarding was pointed toward another cox account. Email did not forward and the non-cox account received a message indicating the mail did not get delivered to the first cox account.  The message actually showed up in the first cox account inbox, but It took roughly 30 minutes to get there.

I then went into the cox webmail page and turned off the forwarding.  Sent another test message using the same accounts as before.  It took 2 minutes to show up on cox and the non-cox account did not receive any kind of error message.

Obviously the excuse that it is somehow related to third-party email clients is bogus as I used the cox webmail interface for both tests.

I saved the error message from the first test if anybody wants to know exactly what it says.

  • @Rolltop, are both Cox accounts used in your test on the new Cox Email platform?

    Yes

And the other thing I just ran into was that while I was logged in to the forum, I couldn't open a new browser tab to logon to the email accounts to double check the platform.  That should work.  Being able to login to the "same" system from multiple tabs to compare stuff is pretty basic and has always worked before.

  • rolltop,

We don't have control over your ability to open a second tab in your browser. What browser are you using?

I running Firefox and I know you have no control over that.  I'm an experienced PC user; Cox customer for many, many years.

The problem is not the ability to open multiple tabs, I can do that all day.  For some reason it just wasn't functioning properly on your web site.  It appears to be working today, so who know what hiccuped where.

Now, lets get back to the original issue.  Have you made any progress on fixing the email auto-forward function??

This new email system was advertised as being transparent to the end user, and I quote from the email I received from Cox.

"If you log in through webmail, you'll now see a brand new design where you can access your mail, calendar and more all in one place. If you use a POP/IMAP client (e.g. Outlook, Mac Mail or other mail apps), you should experience a faster, more reliable service automatically without any changes required on your end. "

The forwarding function was working fine before I was "upgraded", and now it isn't.  From what I'm seeing on the forums, Cox has the potential to lose a lot of customers over this.
