Filter Rules?

I have had a noticeable uptick in SPAM email ever the change to the new mail system. As a result I have been trying to setup email Filter Rules but to no noticeable avail. I guess I need some help because there is a lack of information on the email and internet support web pages.

The two screen shots are from a recent SPAM email. I have tried a number of various combinations including what I thought were wild cards in the sender address but nothing seems to work. Email is not discarded, or doesn't seem to be, if it meets any of the criteria I setup.

Those articles are all well and good but neither one explains how to set up Filter Rules. So any help on that issue.

    Not much help...

    To quote from the page...

    Filter Rules

You can create, edit, and delete rules for incoming emails.

So I have a Filter Rule as seen in the screen shot. Low and behold I get two (2) messages in the SPAM folder this morning. The rule clearly says to DISCARD the message. So what is going on. I have also received numerous other SPAM messages in our email this morning. Please note I have blanked my name from the start of the SUBJECT > CONTAINS field.

It appears the FILTER RULES simply do NOT WORK...

Nor do Blocking email addresses of the senders. I keep getting SPAM from email addresses already in my Blocked list but they keep on coming...

    Yikes...

    Hello SoonerAl,

Do you have the filter rule set to apply rule if any conditions are met? What is the sender information that is not blocking? Thanks

I've tried with Any and All but neither seem to work...

This is one of the addresses that is not being blocked...

  • This poor customer...CUSTOMER...WE PAY FOR THIS! Is not the only one. Any of you see my post on apps? And btw, where the *** are we supposed to post on email issues since cox made it a 'thing?"

my take is that I spent 24 years building my spam filter (and I literally go THRU the phone when cox employees thank me for that...like I had a choice!) and now I'm starting from scratch. I even got a phishing email for my cox account last week.

will somebody please just admit it instead of having us spinning our wheels deleting & reading &changing passwords, etc.

it's cox. Not you sooner all. I remember you helping me on another thread. We are NOT being treated acceptably.

  • Hi SoonerAl,

I'd like to submit a ticket on your behalf for the issue.  I'd like to gather a bit more information prior to ticket submission.  Please send us an email to cox.help@cox.com, and be sure to include the thread so what we can reference your issue.  I look forward to hearing from you soon.
