Extending recordings on Contour 2 (Arris)

Contour 2 has an auto-extend option, plus you can manually set recordings to extend a certain time.  Does one setting take precedence over the other?  Say I have auto-extend turned on and I also manually set a recording to extend by 3 minutes.  What happens if the show goes 4 minutes over?  Does the auto-extend take precedence and extend the extra minute?  Or does the manual "3 minutes over" setting take precedence and stop the recording 3 minutes over?

Auto-extend is for live events, typically sporting events with the settings options being 30, 60 and 90 minutes late. If it's a series that you're recording and the episodes run a few minutes later or earlier, you'd want to set up the extend by only a few minutes. Only use auto-extend with live sporting events.

Thanks Stephanie.  That makes sense.  But I don't see the 30,60 or 90 minutes late setting for auto-extend.  Where can I find that?

You would first want to schedule a recording that will be live. Once the recording has been scheduled you can highlight the future recording and select the "options" option and find the settings there.

Found it, thanks Stephanie!  Strange that they make you do it this way, instead of having at as option when you first set up the series recording.  I'd much rather have the series recording set this way so that it happens every time, instead of having to manually go change it for each event.
