email password

I have four Cox email addresses and have had repeated issues where one or more of them have not downloaded and an error msg pops up that says "password required" but the password is not accepted.  I had this issue with Live Mail and now with eMClient.  What is the problem and solution?

  • I have seen this on my email(s), although only sporadically. I usually just restart my email client (Thunderbird) or if that doesn't work I reboot my computer.

    That issues sounds like a problem with authenticating to the mail server through the email program that you're using. When you re-enter the password do you retype the username also? Does it have the entire email address in the username field or just the first part up to the @ symbol?
