Email Outgoing Connection

I am using a Kindle Fire HDX with the latest OS. For over a year I had no trouble using the email built in to send and receive email. As of 22 Oct 2016 I can receive, but not answer email. My settings match those in the guidelines on Cox and I can log into and use Cox Webmail. I can also log into my Cox account and use the internet through my home network, Did something change in the Cox system on or about 22 Oct? I now get an error message that says "Connection Problem (Cox)".

    Does it indicate what connection problem?

    Are you using SSL with SMTP?  Kindle, if I'm not mistaken, routes through amazon for all web traffic, so it might read to cox as coming from outside their network.
