Email apps

I've been trying to use a popular app called "MyMail" on my iPhone to access my cox email.  It downloads the emails quickly and I can read them with no problem.  But when I try to "send", nothing happens.  The emails do not go out, but there are no error messages or emails from Cox.  Is this just not allowed?  The app uses "smtp.cox.net" as the outgoing server with port 587 (if TLS is enabled) or port 465 (if SSL enabled).  I'm not sure which of those ports is used now ... it is difficult access those technical things within the app.   Any cure for my problem?   Otherwise it is a pleasing app for the iPhone.   If you know of any other apps that do work, can you recommend one?  The direct web access to Cox is awkward on a phone.

Thanks Jonathon, but that article shows how to connect the standard "Mail" app on an iPhone.  I've done that and it works fine.  I was trying to connect a third-party app "MyMail" (which is widely used) and had trouble "sending" mails from it.  The problem seemed mysterious, that's why I sought help.

I'm not familiar with app and we don't appear to have any support articles for it. If the correct email settings are working with the built-in Mail app there may be some internal issue with the MyMail app that perhaps their support may be able to assist with.

Thanks Chris.  I know that Cox cannot try to support 3rd party apps, I was just wondering if there was something that would prevent them from working generally.  Any settings or ports that might be unusual.  You've answered my question I think: If standard "Mail" works, then my app probably should too. I had tried to get the app developers to look into it, but they punted me back to you at Cox.  I suspect there is something amiss with their app.

Can anyone out there recommend an iPhone app for viewing/replying to my Cox email?

The Mail app is the one that we are able to provide support for. Others should work using the same settings although support is limited to verifying that the correct server settings are being used.
