Emai parking

I was wondering if I can discontinue internet and retail access to my email address with cox?

    What do you mean by "retail access"?  Are you asking if you can keep your Cox email address after discontinuing service?  If so,no, Cox used to offer that service for a small monthly fee but no longer.  Canceling internet service will remove your email address and any messages left on the server.

    And unfortunately this reveals the one drawback for using ISP mail, they tend not to be portable.  One of the ways I've gotten around this problem is to have an email address from one of the major non-isp providers.  I won't recommend specific ones, but don't choose Yahoo at this time....
