DVR Series Recording Question

Okay, so one of the things I like to do with my DVR is, of course, set it to record shows my kids like. I'll set it to keep the max of five episodes, so there's always some for them to watch if they feel like it when it's TV time. Some of these shows, The Loud House, Gravity Falls, etc, sometimes get shown a lot...like four or five times a day (or more!) I noticed something odd about that, and I think I see how it works, but I'd like to make sure I'm right. This is a little complicated, so I hope I explain it properly.

The Guide shows episodes two weeks in advance, right? So, say I've got an episode of Gravity Falls saved, and it gets deleted. And say that same episode is going to air again just a couple of days later, so it's already on the Guide. That showing of that episode won't be set to record, because it was already on the Guide when we had the episode saved. But a future showing of the episode, one that hasn't shown up on the Guide yet, will be set to record when it appears.

To put it another way, deleting a saved episode *doesn't* trigger a function that looks for upcoming showings of that episode and sets them to record. But, as each new day is added to the Guide, the DVR looks for episodes of shows set to record, and if an episode of a show isn't already saved to the DVR when that episode is added to the Guide, that episode is set to record.

Assuming that was actually coherent, do I have that right? Just to clarify, if that is how it works, I think it's great. I just want to make sure I understand it.

When deleting a recording it shouldn't cancel and future recordings. When recording a series make sure you select options, all episodes than new episode only if not then it will record all shows when aired.
